![]() Instead, my husband left the party room to wait for the last of the straggling party guests and they would not let him re-enter with the last 3 guests until he paid the price of admission! I was absolutely floored. As a result, I figured I would take care of any additional charges when we left. I was not asked to pay for the extra children ahead of time, despite being in email and phone communication with a Legoland party planner. Subsequently, about two weeks before the party, I sent in my final numbers which included additional kids. When I reserved the birthday party I paid for the minimum of 15 kids. Trust me, being responsible for 16 kids cut loose into a Great Lakes Crossing mall is terrifying. Unless or until Legoland comes up with a process for allowing parents to reconnect with their child after the party I do not recommend booking a party at Legoland. Most significantly, Legoland will not allow parents to walk into the facility to pick up their child – nor do they have any other solution as to how the parent of the birthday kid is supposed to deliver 16 party guests ages 6 and 7 (in my case) to their respective parent. The whole process was inflexible, and the treatment was poor. I had my son’s 6th Birthday party at Legoland and unfortunately, we ran into nothing but problems. If making the trip from far away make sure you make a day of it and purchase the Sea Life Aquarium/Legoland combo and there is also a Rainforest Cafe to eat at in the mall. I would personally not want to wait more than 20 minutes per ride for what was offered. ![]() I know we would have NOT enjoyed it as much as we did. I am also very happy we went while it was not busy. I don't agree with the $23.50 adult admission price since were mainly sitting around just watching our kids. I probably won't go again unless we purchase tickets during a promo to save money. I can also see how kids ages 10 and up may be bored after about an hour. Under 3 wouldn't appreciate it nor is there much for them to do. Overall, my kids enjoyed their trip there. You can also access the Lego store without attending Legoland. Once you exit you are in the Lego gift shop where they have all kinds of Lego sets and items. A few of the scenes including Comerica Park and Ford Field were interactive with buttons to push. The area with the Detroit city scape was very cool to look at and the room goes from daytime to nighttime mode periodically. The food/cafeteria area sits center in the venue and we did not eat at it. ![]() This area requires socks and I did see an employee telling parents that their kids have to wear socks in that area. After the movie my kids played for a long time in the gated off play structure area that resembles a police station, fire station and construction site. The 4D Chima movie was cute and we did get a little wet with "raindrops" from water falling during the rain scene. ![]() There's also another area to build Lego towers and test how easy it will fall down. No parents around telling their kids to get off nor employee around to keep kids off the tracks. Kids were jumping on the ramps and blocking the cars other kids were trying to race. This area was a bit messy with Legos all over the floor. Next we went to the Build & Test area where you can build a car and race it down a few ramps. There were large Friends to take pictures with but no small ones to play with in the area or if there were at one time, they are all gone now. The Lego Friends area was cute with prebuilt structures and stations to build at. There really isn't much to do for the under 3 crowd in my opinion. There's an area for smaller children with large soft plastic blocks and a small duplo type house with a tunnel slide. Both our children were able to ride but only with us (an adult) riding it as well. The 2nd ride spins in circles, requires pedaling and has a height requirement. There are 2 rides, the 1st one is a shooting game somewhat similar to Toy Story Midway Mania at WDW. You are then sent into a room with large screens and watch a interactive cartoon type Lego factory show before entering the main attraction area. The cashier that scanned our tickets gave us no direction and just told us to go through the entryway where we were unclear on where to stand since other patrons were assigned a colored circle. We purchased our tickets online during the promo, purchase 1 adult ticket and get 1 free child admission. It's been open for months so the crowd has died down. Wear or bring socks! My husband and I took our 5 & 3 year olds on a weekday afternoon.
